Our Birtley Panel Shop Hosts its First Open Day
We recently opened the doors of our panel manufacturing shop in Birtley to a select few of our clients. The day was designed to cover subjects such as harmonic testing and mitigation, energy-saving, servicing and repairs of VSDs, how panel design and building works, and how our hire fleet can be used, all based on live demonstrations and examples of how these are applied in recent case studies. To make sure everyone could hear, and all questions could be answered, we created small groups of 5-6 and rotated through each of the stations.
The stations included our brand-new harmonic filter system available for hire, designed by our panel shop manager, Johnathan Hardy, and produced in our workshop. Our clients were impressed to have been able to have a first look at our newest hire item and see them in action.
Outside of the building we were able to demonstrate our hire VSDs and pump systems, a pool was set up that sprayed water over our bespoke hire panels to show how weatherproof they are, we used the level detector above our entrance to vary the height of the water spray and opened the panel at the end of the day to show everyone it was still dry inside.
Back inside we were able to set up a video link with our repair shop and talk our customers through our repairs process, including a live demo of our unique 400amp load testing process, as well as showcase demo cases, spares suitcases, and training packages.
Our MD, Kevin Brown showed a popular short presentation on energy saving, uncovering the truth behind many of the myths other sales agents will try to tell our customers, and where you will actually get the most benefit.
Lastly, we were able to showcase our panel shop. As the UK’s leading Control Panel Manufacturer, we design and manufacture our panels on-site and then deliver the finished product to our clients, it was great to be able to give a visual of this process to our clients who usually will only see the finished product.
The day was finished with a fantastic barbeque in the sun and lots of goodies to take away. Dan Fitzsimons, our sales director, who organised the day said ‘It was fantastic to be able to give some of our customers a look behind the curtain, showing them what we are doing on a daily basis to improve their efficiency, power quality and reliability on site. The feedback has been so good that we are already planning the next one.’
